I've been dipping my toes into the world of long exposures recently, inspired by the many great artists on DA who use this technique in their photography.

Image was captured with a circular polariser and an ND8 filter, giving me the necessary exposure length to blur the water to how I wanted it.

Final toning was applied in PS. :)

Really nice job. I like how the rock is sharp while water looks like fog. It looks like mountain :O

Well I don't have a 5D, I shoot with a Nikon D70. It's OK, but the noise control can be a bit bad when it comes to long exposures, though this doesn't matter so much when it's converted to B&W, as it looks like film grain. :)

Looking forward to seeing any shots you produce using this technique. :nod:

I have a D100 and filters for it (a IR 72 hoya and a cookin IR too )
I need a ND400 I think
